fotoOne of the things that turned my Jakarta experience into a happy one, is definitely the book club I lead with a group of Italian-speaking women (and one man). In every country I lived, I took care of finding a book club and joining it. IĀ  have glorious memories of the one in Brazzaville, where we discovered a lot of African authors, and the one in Jerusalem, whose discussions started from the book and went on to explore all possible life issues, like human relationships, sex and of course, the israeli occupation of Palestine.

The one in Jakarta is special, though. To start with, I did not have to insist and push and call people to participate. It was born very spontaneously one morning I had invited a bunch of friends to my place, to donate some books I had read and wanted to share. The discussionā€¦
